What can you expect from psychotherapy?
A therapy session is a meeting with a psychotherapist, which usually lasts 50 - 60 minutes for a private meeting or 90 minutes for a family/group meeting. In the first meeting the therapist will ask the client a number of questions concerning the their problem and the context of its occurrence. During the first meeting the objective and expected duration of the therapy is establish and agreed together. Psychotherapist working tool is primarily a conversation, that differs from ordinary conversation with friends, During the sessions the client talks about their experiences, thoughts and feelings. The therapist shows them, how they understands the clients situations allowing them to show the client the problem from another perspective. The therapist can ask the client to carry out some tasks in order to continue the therapeutic process outside of the sessions
